Landscaping insurance
Landscaping crews work on other people’s property with blades, chemicals, trucks, and seasonal labor. That is closer to a contractors program than to an office BOP. Kavana Insurance Inc. helps California and Texas landscape contractors compare general liability, workers’ compensation, commercial auto, and inland marine for tools and equipment.

Coverages landscapers actually get asked for
Licensed California insurance agency, License 6016951. Licensed in Texas, License 3452379. Same-day certificates after a policy is bound, when the carrier allows it.
General liability
Third-party injury and property damage while you are on a client’s grounds — damaged irrigation, a mower striking a parked car, a visitor injured on a site you control. GL does not cover your own tools.
Workers’ compensation
Cuts, strains, heat, and equipment injuries. California employers with employees generally must carry WC.
Commercial auto
Crew trucks, trailers, and dumped loads. Personal auto policies typically exclude business use.
Tools and equipment
Mowers, blowers, and trailered equipment are inland marine / equipment floaters — not general liability. Ask for them as their own line.
What changes underwriting
Herbicide and pesticide applications, tree work above certain heights, and hardscape/construction operations change underwriting. Say so up front.
If the work is closer to construction, also see contractors insurance.
